Club Tournament

This tournament is for club members only.  From Nov. 1st to Oct. 31st you measure your catches and submit your weighslip online.  You receive points for the top 3 of each species.  You also earn angler and boat points.  The ultimate goal is to win top boat honors for the year.

Top Fish

  • Awards given for the three heaviest fish in each recognized species.

Top Boat

  • Boat points equal total points earned by club anglers fishing on that boat.
  • Boat must be captained by a club member/owner.
  • One captain per boat.

📊 Points

  • Points awarded for the three heaviest fish per species in each Master Angler Division:
    1st: 100 pts
    2nd: 50 pts
    3rd: 25 pts

  • Billfish Release Bonus: one-time 50 pts per species.
  • Top three anglers per division recognized annually.

Offshore Program Rules

Weighing & Entry

  • Scales must be IGFA or state certified.
  • Approved models may include Salter, Sampson (50/100 lb), Rapala 50 lb (weighmaster approval).
  • Fish eligible only during the period caught.
  • Witnessed entry required.
  • Submit Certification of Catch & Weight Form plus 2 photos:
    Fish on scale with weight visible
    Angler holding fish

Ties & Measurements

  • Species ties go to first fish caught.
  • Point ties broken by:
    Number of species
    Number of placements
    Total weight
  • Weights rounded down to nearest ounce.

Eligibility & Regulations

  • Must be caught in U.S. EEZ, departing from and returning to a Florida port.
  • Angler must be a member in good standing when fish is hooked.
  • IGFA rules apply:
    No electric reels
    No wire line
    Only angler may touch rod
  • Physically/mentally challenged anglers:
    Must set hook and reel fish
    Electric reels allowed if required
    No wire line
    Max 50 lb line class

Divisions

PeeWee (Age 5+, not Junior)

  • Adults may assist with hook-set, drag, rod support
  • Angler operates reel
  • Rod holders allowed, no electric reels
  • Year-end trophies: heaviest offshore fish + longest inshore species (6 total)
  • No boat points

Junior (Ages 11–15)

  • Adults may assist with hook-set and rod support
  • Rod holders allowed, no electric reels
  • Year-end trophies for all species
  • Boat points awarded

Senior (Age 55+)

  • Assistance allowed for hook-set and rod handling
  • Rod holders allowed
  • Year-end trophies for all species
  • Boat points awarded

Additional Offshore Rules

  • Final eligibility decided by Weighmaster or Tournament Director.
  • CFOA follows conservation and honor system.
  • Sale of fish not allowed; violators may not submit entries.
  • Charter boats (paid): fish allowed, no boat points.
  • Member boats (free/expense share): fish and boat points awarded.
  • Submission errors may be corrected within 1 month of notification.

Inshore Program Rules

Measurements

  • Size based on length and girth (weight optional).
  • Flexible measuring device ≥ 3 ft required.
  • Measurements follow all regulations.
  • Rounded to nearest ¼ inch.

  • Same tournament dates and deadlines as Offshore.
  • Species ties go to first fish caught.

Special Inshore Rules

  • Certification form submitted by angler or member captain.
  • Tarpon considered caught when leader is within grasp or swivel reaches rod tip.
  • Tagging encouraged, not required.

  • Inshore and offshore groups; Women, Men, Senior Men (55 and older), Senior Women (55 and older), Junior (11 - 15), PeeWee (< 10)

How it Works

Every time you catch a nice fish or a fish that you think will place just take two photos.  For inshore fish, take a picture with you holding the fish and one with the fish next to a measuring tape.  For offshore fish, take a picture holding the fish and picture with the fish on the scale so that the weight is readable.

When you get home from your day of fishing, take those pictures and enter them into our weigh slip form.

Scores get calculated about every 15 minutes.  View where you stand on our scoreboard.

At the end of the tournament year, the final scores are tallied up and awards are given out at our awards banquet.

Awards Banquet

At the end of year we celebrate the year with our members.  At the awards banquet, awards are given out for the club members who placed in our Club Tournament.

This is open to all club members and includes a free catered meal and a cash bar.
