Meet Rodney Sahr 🏆
Rodney brings a lifetime of kingfish knowledge, earned through years of recreational fishing and high-level tournament competition, including Southern Kingfish Association (SKA) events. He is also a past president of CFSA.
A Lifetime on the Water 🌎
Growing up as a missionary kid, Rodney experienced fisheries around the world—from the waters of Belize to the trout streams of Pennsylvania—fueling a lifelong love of fishing and the outdoors.
After returning to Central Florida in 1999, he began spending more time out of Port Canaveral, targeting a wide variety of species. He later fished with several Southern Kingfish teams and developed a particular passion for tournament-style king mackerel fishing.
Fishing-Industry Experience ⚓
Rodney has built much of his professional career in the fishing industry, working with respected brands including Columbia Sportswear, Rapala, and HUK Fishing Apparel. Today, he represents Daiwa and other leading fishing brands throughout Florida’s west coast.
When he is not working, Rodney and his wife, Amanda, spend time aboard their 23-foot bay boat, competing in kingfish tournaments along Florida’s central and northeast coasts. Whether fishing for fun or competing at the highest level, Rodney continues to pursue the sport he has loved throughout his life.
